'Robin Hood', Hoodwinked 2018, Lower Parliament Street
'Hoodwinked: a twist on the tale' was a city-wide art project that ran from July 7th to September 30th, with 33 large plastic robins placed around the city on a walking trail. Each bird was decorated with a particular theme relating to where they were placed and the businesses sponsoring them. The theme of robins was chosen due to the city's famous connection with the legendary outlaw, Robin Hood. This bird was titled 'Robin Hood', was sponsored by The Nottingham Building Society and was designed by Jodie Silverman. It celebrated the city's connection to Robin Hood, with a design based on the classic costume of the outlaw.

Graham Greene worked here
It is worth looking through the bars of the locked and neglected entrance lobby of Watson Fothergill's Nottingham Daily Express Offices of 1876 to see this plaque, which records that the novelist Graham Greene had his first job as a newspaperman on the Nottingham Journal in the 1920s.

Watson Fothergill's Express Offices and Chambers: entrance lobby
It's worth a look through the padlocked railings of the dusty and neglected main entrance to the Nottingham Express Offices, at the base of the round north-east corner tower of the building, for a look at these glazed tiles depicting Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and two other august and bewhiskered persons.

Round corner towers with pointed fairytale French-chateau spires were a Fothergill speciality. This one is on the north-east corner of the building, above the main entrance lobby.
