Traffic can longer access the A60 ahead although vehicles can access this one-way street (towards the photographer) from Maiden Lane - to the right, behind the car in the middle of the picture. Woolpack Lane is predominantly residential.

38 Goose Gate
The Pevsner city guide refers to "five shops by Marshall & Tweedy, 1938-39 with herringbone panels, the centre set forward with a giant order". This picture is of that centre section as the street is not wide enough to get the side sections in shot.
