Nobel Road turning circle, Clifton
Although it is the official terminus of route 48 from Nottingham city centre via Clifton Bridge, buses do not turn here, instead pausing in it before travelling the whole length of Nobel Road before heading south along Clifton Lane. On a sunny day such as this, it is impossible to contain the whole turning circle in one photo due to its orientation and the topography of the land around it. I must remember to try again on an overcast day from a different angle.

On Nobel Road, at the corner of Gabor Close. The roads off Nobel Road are all named after individual Nobel Prize winners. Dennis Gabor, originally from Hungary, did most of his work in the UK and won the Physics prize in 1971 for his invention of the hologram.

Looking towards the Dip, Clifton
The slight trough in Clifton Lane between the ends of Nobel Road (whose southern junction is visible in the foreground) is known locally as the Dip. It is enough of a landmark to have a pair of bus stops named after it.
