Nobel Road turning circle, Clifton
Although it is the official terminus of route 48 from Nottingham city centre via Clifton Bridge, buses do not turn here, instead pausing in it before travelling the whole length of Nobel Road before heading south along Clifton Lane. On a sunny day such as this, it is impossible to contain the whole turning circle in one photo due to its orientation and the topography of the land around it. I must remember to try again on an overcast day from a different angle.

On Nobel Road, at the corner of Gabor Close.
The roads off Nobel Road are all named after individual Nobel Prize winners. Dennis Gabor, originally from Hungary, did most of his work in the UK and won the Physics prize in 1971 for his invention of the hologram.

Artwork at Nobel Road
Part of improvements in the area to turn it into a 'Family Zone' following a period when it had a reputation for difficult behaviour.

Clifton Lane, Nottingham, NG11
Clifton Lane looking towards Nottingham. On the left is the main entrance into the £59m Lark Hill retirement village that opened in 2009. Apart from obvious difference in the age of its residents, it is apparently not all that different from a university campus with accommodation blocks, a shopping area, a gym, a library and a bar. Non-residents are also able to use the facilities

Being built on the edge of Clifton. I am uncomfortable about the building of ghettos for our elderly.
