Whatton Drive, West Bridgford
Nestled between Landmere Lane and the A52, just south of Compton Acres estate, this quite upmarket housing development is sufficiently recent not to appear on some scales of OS mapping at the time of posting.

Ruddington Lane closed (3)
The closure has meant the diversion of the local bus service, and the provision of a special shuttle service over the section affected.

Bridge over Wilford Road
Although Wilford Road between Clifton/West Bridgford and Ruddington is quite a busy road (B680) the bridge carries much more traffic along the A52, one of the main arterial routes to and from Nottingham.

Under the A52
A southbound tram has passed under the A52 Nottingham Southern By-pass after leaving the Ruddington Lane stop and is turning towards Clifton. The stretch of tramway from Coronation Avenue at Wilford to here follows the alignment of the former Great Central Railway main line from Nottingham Victoria to Leicester Central and London Marylebone.

Robin Hood on the way to Clifton
This tram has just left Ruddington Lane and is passing under the A52, Nottingham's southern by-pass. NET's trams are named after Nottingham heroes and heroines - and this is the name everyone has heard of.

Under the bypass
At this point the tramway leaves the alignment of the former Great Central Railway to head across fields towards Clifton.
Behind the tram you can see how the railway track bed has been filled in to enable the tramway to cross Ruddington Lane on the level where previously there was a bridge over the railway.
