Information panel in Bunny Old Wood
The wood is owned by the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust. It overlays part of the Marblaegis gypsum mine of British Gypsum who previously owned it, the ownership changing hands for the nominal sum of 1p. The wood is designated as ancient woodland and is managed by the Trust using traditional methods, largely coppicing. The board is mounted on a large block of gypsum (alabaster) provided by British Gypsum.
