Standard traditional Notts CC octagonal concrete with finial. Barton Ferry has not run since the 1960s but the name lingers on. It looks like whoever sawed off the point on the Nottingham finger did not look at the other side Image

Barton in the Beans according to Arthur Mee. In 1646 King Charles I passed through the village on his way to Stamford to give himself up to the Scots. He would have crossed the river at Barton ferry in order to avoid Nottingham.
