Sawley on the edge of Long Eaton
Long Eaton is the village / suburb that, if HS2 goes ahead, is going to be cut in two by a huge viaduct carrying the new rail line. At the moment this part is still fairly quiet but that will all change if HS2 goes ahead under the present plans.

Election news - just in
The removal of a notice board from the wall of this building on Wilne Road revealed this Election results poster from 1961. It is still there as of 2008, but the frayed edges have now worn away.
