Distance

Cleveland Avenue
The road was originally only developed (from the far end) as far as the gabled house, as this marked the boundary between Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. The nearer houses, when originally developed, were still in Nottinghamshire despite being part of a development by the Long Eaton Urban District Council, a Derbyshire authority, although subsequent boundary changes have regularised the position.

On Cleveland Avenue. Both have preservation orders, the closest one was subject to some permitted work three days ago. A very good job was done too - it can hardly be seen!

Footpath to Cleveland Avenue
When built, the little cluster of houses visible here, at the corner of Cleveland Avenue and Landsdown Grove were in Nottinghamshire. Sensibly, later boundary changes have brought them into the same authority as their neighbours.

Double reflection
The just-risen sun is reflected in house window on Cleveland Avenue straight down the nearby alley onto Manor Farm Local Nature Reserve. Reflecting again off the ice which is the remains of the snow that fell on the evening of the 26th.
