Old Milestone by the B601, Bensham Bank, Gateshead
Carved stone post by the B601 (was A692), in parish of GATESHEAD (GATESHEAD District), Bensham Road, by park, back of footpath, against stone wall, on North side of road. W/G stone, erected by the Lobley Hill & branches turnpike trust in the 18th century.

Plaque for Emily Davies
This commemorates the Victorian feminist and founder of Girton College, Cambridge. Her father was the local vicar and they lived here in the rectory which once stood on this spot. Rectory Road, the street in the background, takes its name from the house.
