Carved stone post by the B601 (was A692), in parish of GATESHEAD (GATESHEAD District), Bensham Road, by park, back of footpath, against stone wall, on North side of road. W/G stone, erected by the Lobley Hill & branches turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- : W / (2)2 : : G / 1 : (To Wolsingham and Gateshead) Milestone Society National ID: DU_GHWH01.
