The remains of Queen's Letch Cottage
In his superb book "The Making of the Hexhamshire Landscape" [ISBN 978 0 9565078 8 4] Greg Finch says "Walking northwards towards Hexham up the footpath from Dipton Mill and Hole House, following the Hexham East enclosure hedges, you come across the remains of basic industrial brick walls and associated rubble strewn in a small copse. This was Queen's Letch Cottage, a simple early to mid-20th century utilitarian dwelling of a family who lived a hard life there without modern utilities until well into the post-war period."

Ruined hut near Queen's Letch
The fact that it is brick-built suggests a world war 2 structure, rather than an old farm building.
