Sambuca Braise Station is the Shiremoor branch of the Sambuca Italian restaurant chain. The chain has several other branches under the Sambuca brand spread across the north east. The building was formerly a pub, known as the Northumberland Arms. Image shows the building in its former guise in 2013.

Female Mallard and Chicks, West Allotment Pond
The mallard is a large and heavy looking duck with a long body, and a long and broad bill. The male has a dark green head, a yellow bill, and is mainly purple-brown on the breast and grey on the body, whilst the female (seen here) is mainly brown with an orange bill. The female can lay between eight to thirteen creamy white to greenish-buff spotless eggs, although it appears that only three ducklings have survived in this instance. West Allotment Pond https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6501661 which, along with nearby Silverlink Biodiversity Park, was declared a Local Nature Reserve in 2005 and in total occupies approximately 18 hectares in the centre of the Cobalt Business Park. West Allotment Pond near Silverlink Biodiversity Park
This is West Allotment Pond which, along with nearby Silverlink Biodiversity Park, was declared a Local Nature Reserve in 2005. Occupying approximately 18 hectares in the centre of the Cobalt Business Park, the nature reserve holds significant biodiversity value, with a range of woodland, scrub and hedgerow, grassland and tall herb, wetland and exposed rock habitats.
