Former Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, Great Whittington
The building dates from 1835. Its simple design with twin lancet windows and a pedimented front adds to the architectural quality of the village and illustrates the strong Methodist tradition that flourished throughout rural Northumberland. It was deconsecrated and converted to a private house in 1988.

The Old Blacksmiths, Great Whittington
This building used to be a forge of a blacksmith in the 19th century. It is now a cottage. In the past almost every village and town would have had a blacksmith for the production of iron-based items. These sites are not like a foundry or blast furnace involved in the actual production of the metal. Rather these village smiths would have made or repaired smaller items. This is a Grade II Listed Building protected by law.

Great Whittington
The Ordnance Survey Name Book (c.1860) recorded the village as consisting of four farmhouses, several cottages, a Methodist Chapel, an Inn (The Queen's Head Image), and a public house (The Bay Horse).
