High Bridge from Pilgrim Street
High Bridge runs from here west across Grey Street to Groat Market. Its name comes from one of the two bridges that used to span the Lort Burn before it was buried. Parts of the small, stone-arched, Upper Dean Bridge, still survive below the dip in the west half of the street. Tyne and Wear HER (6498): Newcastle, High Bridge (street) http://www.twsitelines.info
