Footbridge in Walbottle Dene
A footpath winds its way up the deep and narrow Walbottle Dene, an attractive valley flanked by suburbs of Newcastle on either side. The path crosses and recrosses the stream several times by way of footbridges.

The third bridge in the Dene from Hexham Road returns you to the west bank. My companion, a three legged dog, wasn't happy crossing the open metal base of the bridges and had to wade through the water.
