Heworth Church
With the grave of Richard Dawes (1708-1766; Greek scholar; see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Dawes ) in its churchyard. His epitaph reads "The burial-place of Richard Dawes, author of the celebrated 'Miscellanea Critica'. Let no man move his bones". Dawes was Headmaster of RGS Newcastle in 1758.
