Pelaw Metro station, Tyne and Wear
A station was originally opened on this site in 1839, but was moved in 1857. It was reopened on this site in 1896 by the North Eastern Railway on the line from Newcastle to Sunderland, and was converted to Metro operation in 1985.

Pelaw Station
The Metro Station at Pelaw. The train is bound for South Shields. At Pelaw, Metro services out of Sunderland and South Shields meet, there are also main line tracks (non stopping) right. The weedy track in the middle was about to be occupied by a Grand Central HST.
