Edmonton: Former Charles Lamb Institute, Church Street, N9
One would expect to find a building like this in Oxford or Cambridge, but not in Edmonton! However this is the former Charles Lamb Institute founded in 1908 to commemorate the writer, who lived in Church Street from about 1828 until his death here in 1834. The building is now used by the Tower Gym. The memorial stone records the architect as J[ohn]S[amuel] Alder.

All Saints Churchyard, Edmonton
All Saints Church was founded in 1136 by Geoffrey de Mandeville. The west tower dates from the 15th century, as does much of the interior, including the nave roof. However, there is still evidence of the earlier 12th century church here as there are fragments of a Norman doorway and other pieces of Norman evidence built into the west wall. This part of the churchyard to the south-west of the main churchyard is separated by railings and also contains old tombs, as well as gravestones which have been removed and lined up against the wall.
