Edmonton sign
Church Street at junction Ridge Avenue (to left) and Village Road (to right). The discolouration here is not wear but simply dirt and can easily be wiped off. The sign shows a rare deviation from Worboy's rules as although it's of the recent post-1963 set with wide blue border it uses capital letters which were outlawed for all new signs. The only exceptions officially are when remaking old signs that have worn out and are replaced with modern copies. I have one here on Belmont Hill in Cheam and are probably only a few existing in the country as few councils appreciate the history.
