Crouch Hill And Floral Hall
Looking down Crouch Hill from close to the junction with Haringey Park. To the right of centre is Floral Hall, an antique dealer. On the left is Church Studios - Converted from Park Chapel, a Congregational Church which was merged with Ferme Park Baptist Church in 1974, the studios have been home to Bura and Hardwick - the animators of children's tv shows including Trumpton, Camberwick Green and Captain Pugwash. Subsequently they have been home to Dave Stewart and Annie Lennox who, as the Eurhythmics, completed recording their debut album there.

The northern end of this street close to Crouch End Broadway and the bottom of the hill. A W7 bus descends on route to Muswell Hill Broadway passing The Harringay Arms public house. The Harringay Arms pub Crouch End
The Harringay Arms pub lies in the old district of Hornsey Borough whereas the district of Harringay lay mostly in the old Tottenham Borough district. All are now safely gathered up in the London Borough of Haringey. This pub is one of only two in Crouch End that I have never entered and I can't for the life of me think why; it has such an attractive appearance.

Crouch End : Park Chapel
"Park Chapel, at the foot of Crouch Hill, was opened in 1855 and registered by Congregationalists in 1856. Alterations raised its seating to 1,017 in 1877 and 1,430 by 1894. After further extensions it had 816 worshippers in the morning and 671 in the evening on one Sunday in 1903, the largest Congregationalist attendances in Hornsey. The chapel and its halls formed a popular social centre, accommodating Hornsey British school until 1877 and later being described as a 'great church'. From 1973 Baptists from Ferme Park shared Park chapel, by then a United Reformed church and still seating circa 1,400." Source: A History of the County of Middlesex: Volume 6: Friern Barnet, Finchley, Hornsey with Highgate (1980), pp. 183-189. Now partly in use as a recording studio and the Mount Zion Cathedral.
