Housing and hostelry. The blue plaque on the nearest house recalls that Charles Dickens stayed there in 1832. The people in the distance are seated outside The Wrestlers, a wellknown public house.

Fire Station Flats
On North Road, once upon a time this was Highgate Fire Station. Originally just a hired room, it was rebuilt to its present form in 1906. After closure, it was converted into flats. The playground in the foreground belongs to St.Michaels Primary School.
