From an Overground train between Crystal Palace and Highbury & Islington, the service that uses the southern pair of lines at Canonbury, looking across the northern pair used for North London Line services. The branding reflects both services' role as part of London Overground.

Platforms 2 and 1 are out of view to the right. They are being prepared for use by East London Line trains, from early 2011.

Canonbury Station: looking east
The North London line has benefited with a new lease of life since the Overground took over. The demand was always there, now it is being catered for with bright new trains and a more frequent service. There are always staff available.

Canonbury railway station, Greater London
Opened in 1870 on the North London Railway's line from Dalston to Willesden Junction, this station replaced an earlier 1858 one some 350m behind the camera position - see Image View west towards Highbury & Islington and Willesden, towards the end of the 2010 rebuild of the station which returned it to four platforms.
