Victoria Line 2009 Stock Interior
The 2009 stock is currently replacing the 1967 Stock which had been in service since the Victoria Line opened in 1968. The new trains are being built by Bombardier at their Litchurch Lane works in Derby. Like their predecessors, they are equipped for fully automatic operation. They have a higher top speed of 50mph and faster acceleration which should result in reduced journey times. See Image for an example of the interior of a 1967 stock train.
