Hoxton Square
Hoxton Square, just north of Old Street, is at the heart of the Hoxton area of Shoreditch. It was originally laid out in the 17th century, but now has a mix of architecture from different periods. The square was refurbished in the early 1990s, and the area has been revitalised in recent years.

Hoxton Square
The water fountain in the foreground was erected by the Metropolitan Public Gardens Association in September 1901, and donated by one J. Passmore Edwards Esq. 'It being the desire of the donor to thereby add to the enjoyment of visitors to this garden.'
