Green Lanes looking towards Newington Green
This is looking towards Newington Green. This is a mile or so away from the two major centres of the Turkish Community (Stoke Newington and Harringay) but from the shops here it is obvious there is a sizeable proportion of Turkish people living near here. Note the skip. This suggests a house is being renovated and an area in the process of gentrification.

Former China Inland Mission, Newington Green
Only the frontage of the China Inland Mission remains, facing the green but concealing the modern student accommodation of Alliance House behind.
The Mission, started in 1865, aimed to send Christian missionaries to the remotest parts of China where they were instructed to live as, and with, the native population.
