Dalston Kingsland station
A station was opened here in 1850 by the North London Railway, but closed again in 1865 when the nearby Dalston Junction, on the Broad Street extension, was opened. With the revival of the eastern end of the North London line, a new station opened in 1983 some 118 years after the closure! For almost a year it has now been part of the London Overground network, and has been refurbished and improved no end, with staff always present when trains are running. A very well-used station, and when the new Dalston Junction reopens in 2010, Kingsland will remain open with a pedestrian link to the Junction.
