Beneath the peeling paint one can still read the shop sign. When these streets were first laid out at the start of the twentieth century each corner had a shop. This was the butcher's not the baker's or indeed the candlestick maker's.

J Reid Piano Factory South Tottenham
The elegant double fronted building is indeed the home still of J Reid Piano Factory and Outlet. The building contrasts greatly with the Suffolk Road Estate houses on the other side of the road. See my photo 7557771.

St Ann's Library South Tottenham
The library is housed in a rather well proportioned and well designed public building dating I would guess from the 1920's or 1930's in a style called neo-Georgian. This is the view north up Cissbury Road.
