Building on corner Ashfield Parade and High Street, London N14
This imposing building on the corner of Ashfield Parade and the High Street was originally a small departmental store called B. Davis. To the best of my recollection it was an estate agent, then a Property Bureau (dealing mainly with lettings). I believe the company went out of business and it is now empty.

Southgate Station at Christmas
Southgate Station on the Piccadilly was one of the stations on this line designed by Charles Holden. It is a landmark at Southgate Circus, which in the past was known as Fiveways because five roads met. A local store, usually Asda, sponsors the Christmas Tree.

Why wasn't he called Gareth Knightsbridge?
If Southgate Station had been in Zone 1 - like Knightsbridge for example - I wouldn't have had to fork out £13.50 in Tube fares to take a random photo of a temporary sign! Still, if he was called Gareth Amersham that really would have been expensive! Wonder if the man himself has taken a selfie here? You are spared the selfie I took purely as it has no geographical content apart from a furrowed brow!

Art Deco Lamp Standard, Southgate Station, London N14
Newly-reburbished Art Deco lamp standard and seat, one of a pair of these at Southgate Station. Image is a similar style of lamp and seat situated at Oakwood Station. The one at Southgate has five lights as opposed to four lights at Oakwood, and is situated near to Station Parade, the original sign for which can be partially seen on the wall of the building to the right of the image. We are looking down the High Street towards Southgate Green.

Station Parade, London N14
Here we have the other end of the Art Deco building at Southgate Station. The large rounded end was originally a departmental store called Edmunds; it then became a discount bed/furniture shop. Currently it is a Blockbuster Video Store.
