Southgate Town Hall
The building was opened in 1893 and initially consisted of only the half closest to the camera. It was designed by Arthur Rowland Barker. The building was extended and modified to its current appearance in 1914. When Southgate was abolished as a municipal borough in 1965 the administration moved to Silver Street. From circa 1970 until 2009 the town hall became the Local History Archive. It is currently under threat of demolition along with the adjacent Palmers Green Library to allow a housing development. Palmers Green Library
Built in the late 1930's the library opened in 1940. It is currently under threat of closure and demolition along with the associated Southgate Town Hall to allow the site to be redeveloped for housing.
