Compton Terrace Garden
Seen on a misty and murky November afternoon, Compton Terrace Garden was originally for the private use of residents of Compton Terrace, which is to the right here. Compton Terrace was completed in 1831. In the 20th century, maintenance was transferred to Islington Borough Council and the gardens opened as a public amenity. For a more detailed history of Compton Terrace Garden see http://www.londongardensonline.org.uk/gardens-online-record.asp?ID=ISL023 Immediately on the right can be seen the impressive Union Chapel with the present building dating from the 1870s. A photograph of its front can be seen at http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4261255
