Struther and Swinhill Road
There are roads here other than the M74, but of course they need a little effort to photograph. Who knows, if more of us wander down here the dumping scumbags might give up. Aye right! The road is shown as a yellow public road on current maps, but has been closed with a gate by South Lanarkshire Council. No great loss, the surface is down to the usual Lanarkshire standard.

Signpost and overgrown stile at Hailstonemyre
The Scottish Rights of Way and Access Society (ScotWays) sign marks an old right of way to Ashgillhead via Hills Farm, which is actually off to the left here, rather than over the stile. The stile is a bit overwhelmed by summer plant growth, but if you kick your way through the nettles on the opposite side, you can follow the line of the path shown on the map (there is no longer any actual path) along field margins to emerge near Bogside Farm.
