Railway line near Hamilton West
The railway was built to connect to the coal mines in the area two of which were here. Greenfield Colliery Pits Nos1&2 was on the left of the railway and Whitehill Pit was on the right.

Site of Burnbank Station
View southward, towards Hamilton; ex-North British, Glasgow (Queen St. Low Level) - Shettleston - Hamilton line. The station was closed 15/9/52, when the service through to Hamilton ceased, but evidently goods traffic was still passing here in 1961.
