Dunsyre Church
This small rural church stands on a mound that may have been the site of a much earlier church building. I believe it was sold by the Church of Scotland some years ago but the churchyard is still open to the public.

A symbolic gravestone at Dunsyre Churchyard
This 18th century gravestone has a winged soul, an emblem of immortality, at the top and an hourglass and crossed bones, symbols of mortality, at the bottom. The hammer and horseshoe indicates that this is the grave of a blacksmith. The reverse is inscribed as follows:-

ED MAY 27 1726
