This 18th century gravestone has a winged soul, an emblem of immortality, at the top and an hourglass and crossed bones, symbols of mortality, at the bottom. The hammer and horseshoe indicates that this is the grave of a blacksmith. The reverse is inscribed as follows:- HERE LYES ALEXANDER SMITH WHO DI ED MAY 27 1726 HIS AGE 60 YEARS
