Typical timber-framed, aluminium clad houses of phase 1, built 1973-77. They were originally built with a flat roof, the new pitched roof being added 1983-85.

The Tin Man at Beanhill, Milton Keynes.
In 1978/79 a character, the Tin-Man from the story Wizard of Oz, was sited in Beanhill. This community project was organised by Liz Leyh, resident artist for Milton Keynes Development Corporation. Other artists, Lesley Bonner and Michael Grabowski, were involved in the completion of the project

One Bedroom Bungalows at Beanhill, Milton Keynes.
Beanhill lies centrally and to the South of Milton Keynes Centre. Its name was taken from an old field name and the streets are named after grasses and food eg. Wheatcroft Close, Chervil and Tandra. The houses are built in cul de sacs. The first phase of building began in 1973. Phase one consisted of 569 one and two storey public rental houses built between 1973-77. Phase 2 brought 209 brick clad single storey public rental houses built between 1975-77 to an MKDC design. Phase 3 was built in 1989 and provided 35 open tenure shared ownership homes.
