The church of St. Catherine, Kingsdown
Designed by Pugin to replace a medieval church, it was built in 1866-77 at the expense of Thomas Pemberton Leigh, the first Lord Kingsdown. It is virtually intact and is Pugin's only complete Anglican church - he was a Catholic. It is now in the care of The Churches Conservation Trust.

St. Catharine's Church, Kingsdown
The only complete Anglican church designed by Victorian architect E.W.Pugin. It dates from 1866.

The chancel of the church of St. Catherine, Kingsdown
The red glow comes from the windows on each side of the altar, which are filled with bright red Victorian glass. The only form of lighting in the church comes from the windows.
