Cooling Road, near Cooling
Cooling Road, near the village of Cooling on the Hoo peninsula. The road signs indicate that the national speed limit applies beyond this point.
This road is on the route of National Cycle Network route 179 "The Heron Trail". The route was previously designated as regional cycle route 18.

View across orchards to Childs Farm
Looking west from the hilltop (height about 25m) south of Bromhey Farm. At this early stage in the year the orchards (mostly pears, just here) are not yet in leaf. There are glimpses here and there of the narrow winding road to Cooling village. The treeless expanse in the distance is the marshes along the Thames.
