Stone-built lodge, Blacklands
According to the Listing, this was once a gate-lodge for Clare House Park. Close to New Road, it has survived amid modern residential development.
The neatly-squared blocks are most likely Kentish ragstone - though that material more often takes the form of irregular angular blocks when used for small buildings. The Gothick details are typical of the period 1790-1820.
