Otham houses [7]
Holly Tree House, Otham Street, was probably originally a barn, later a house and shop, now a house. Built in the 17th century and refronted and added to in the 19th century. Timber framed with a red brick front, all under a tile roof. Listed, for group value, grade II, with details at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1250892 Otham is a small, widely spread village, on the southeastern edge of Maidstone, some 2¾ miles from the town centre and 15 miles northwest of Ashford. There are plans to add another 1250 houses to the village which currently has 204 dwellings.

A new house under construction off Otham Street. The high wall and fence around the neighbouring property is unusual. Otham is a small, widely spread village, on the southeastern edge of Maidstone, some 2¾ miles from the town centre and 15 miles northwest of Ashford. There are plans to add another 1250 houses to the village which currently has 204 dwellings.

Tulip Cottage, nearer the camera, and Lilac Cottage, Otham Street, are a pair of cottages created from a former barn. Built in the 16th century, or possibly earlier, refronted in the 19th century. Timber framed, faced with a mix of red brick, render and weatherboard, all under a tile roof. A glimpse of Belks, Otham Street, formerly known as White Cottage. Built as a farmhouse in the late 14th or early 15th century, altered in the 16th century when the gable end jetties were underbuilt, and restored in the 20th century. Timber framed with rendered infill under a tile roof.
