Gravestone in St. Mary's churchyard, Faversham
One of many 18th century stones in the churchyard. This one is very early and I think the inscription reads: "Here lies interred the Bodies of STEPHEN PARTON & ELIZABETH his Wife He Died February 28 1722 Aged 59 Years She Died November 12th 1750 Aged 74 Years...". There are more lines of script but they are illegible to me. As was customary, there are three skulls carved at the top.

Gravestone in St. Mary's churchyard, Faversham
One of the many 18th century stones here, this one is remarkably legible considering it is more than 250 years old. The inscription reads:"Here lye the Bodies of RICHARD DRAYSON of this Town Carpenter and MARY His Wife She died Jan'y 3 1754 Aged 56 years He died August the 27th 1762 Aged 66 Years". What looks like a very peculiar putto at the top makes a change from the usual skulls.

Abbey Street, Faversham
The painted house nearest the camera is no. 84. The two other houses further along, nos. 83 and 82, were originally combined with this house to make one large building. Built in 1598, the interior of no. 84 is little altered since it was created over 400 years ago. It was opened to the public on 9th July as part of Faversham Society's Open House scheme.
