Low view of the beach, Minster-in-Sheppey
The camera was resting on the groyne just an inch or two above the pebbles. There is much building debris on this beach, evidence of the cliff falls from the clay cliffs in the background where Warden Point is being eroded away. Fossils are often exposed in these falls. A nearby sign says "DANGER North Sheppey coastline between Minster Cliffs and Warden Bay. Unstable soil conditions - aggravated by bad weather - have produced dangerous pools of mud along this stretch of coast." I can vouch for that, I nearly lost a shoe in one back in 1991 and by the time I got home my sock had dried out and set solid making it very difficult to remove.

Minster on Sea: Beach huts on Minster Leas Beach
Alas no amount of photo editing is going to show these at their gayest best on a gloomy November Sunday.

Minster on Sea: Minster Leas Beach
The beach was unsurprisingly totally deserted on a gloomy November Sunday lunchtime. There are about 50 of these groynes in total along the beach, regularly spaced about 30 metres apart.
