Sheerness: The Clock Tower
The Clock Tower is in The Crescent and was erected in 1902 to celebrate the coronation of King Edward VII. It is a Grade II Listed Structure. The terraced buildings behind, dated 1830, and extending out of camera shot to the right down Broadway, are also Grade II Listed. Curiously old Victorian Ordnance Survey maps show that the Broadway was then Edward Street and continued to be up to and past the time that the Clock Tower was built. The 1908 map has Edward Street, the next currently available online, dated 1933, has the Broadway.
