Sweet Inspirations, Broadway
I noticed that some of the paintwork was flaking so I assume the scaffolding has been erected so that this may be remedied. The shop sells confectionery.

Sheerness: The Royal Hotel
The 1864 Ordnance Survey map shows the original Royal Hotel on this site, set back from the road in its own gardens and with carriage drives approaching it. By 1896 the gardens had been nibbled away and the present building can be seen, although the main original hotel was still in existence. Then by 1908 the original hotel is still present but all the gardens have gone, to be replaced by new buildings. By 1933 the original building was still there although now joined to the current building, while the present day name of the street in front of the hotel, The Broadway, had replaced the earlier Edward Street. By 1958 the original building had disappeared. The Royal Hotel's website is here http://www.royalhotelsheerness.com/index.html

The back garden of Marine Heights, Broadway
This large house, dating from 1882, has been divided into apartments. In the back garden, it appears that landscaping is being carried out and also that work is ongoing to the ground floor of the house to complete, what appears to be, two garages. To the right of the house, what looks to be a quite substantial building, when viewed from the front of Image, has been reduced to six boarded up windows and one boarded up door.
