Imported cars at Sheerness Docks
Sheerness is one of the United Kingdom's main car importing terminals, handling around 400,000 vehicles each year. A footpath between Queenborough and Sheerness follows the outside of the compound, and the brand new vehicles in their serried ranks can be seen through the fence. None of them have number plates and many still have protective wrappings, like those on the right with coverings over the bonnet and roof.
