Hydraulic pumping engine
This was a Galloway hydraulic pumping engine that had been steam but was later converted to DC electric drive. It had been preserved at the University of Salford in a greenhouse like building. I only just caught up with it here before it was relocated to the Museum of Science & Industry in Castlefields, Manchester.

Footbridge over the Irwell
This footbridge links Peel Park, Salford, Greater Manchester, with The Meadow located on the meander of the river where Chapel Street meets The Crescent. Clover Drive, part of so much new housing development in the area, is at the opposite end of this footbridge.

From left to right: the Roman Catholic Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist (Salford, 680m away); the new Beetham Tower, just recently reached full roof height of 157m (301 Deansgate, Manchester; 1.75 km away); the tower of the Greek-style church of St. Philip with St. Stephen (Salford, 780m away).
