Seen from the right (west) bank of the River Irwell at Peel Park are three local landmarks. From left to right: the Roman Catholic Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist (Salford, 680m away); the new Beetham Tower, just recently reached full roof height of 157m (301 Deansgate, Manchester; 1.75 km away); the tower of the Greek-style church of St. Philip with St. Stephen (Salford, 780m away).
