The Midland Hotel, Manchester
The hotel was constructed between 1898 and 1903 by the Midland Railway to serve Manchester Central railway station which was the company's northern terminus from St. Pancras station in London. The hotel has 312 en-suite bedrooms and 14 suites, a health club and two restaurants. The building is grade 2 listed.

The Midland Hotel, Manchester
The Midland is a large (312 bedroom) hotel situated on Peter Street, Windmill Street and Lower Mosley Street in Manchester city centre. Opened in September 1903, it was built by Charles Trubshaw for the Midland Railway Company to serve the adjacent Manchester Central railway station which is now the Manchester Central (formerly the G-Mex) Exhibition Centre (Image]).
The building is Grade II* listed (Historic England List Entry Number: 1271166 https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1271166 ).

The Disappeared
... this view of the Midland Hotel. What happens next is the erection of the modern edifice shown on the current O/S map, eradicating this long perspective of Manchester's grandest hotel. The new block contains, I believe, a Premier Inn: the prices, and accommodation offered, differ somewhat.
