Walking with the Snowman? #4, Four Calling Birds
Snowman number 4 on the trail is at the end of the path between the Detroit Bridge and The Quays. Kim Hubball's design is based on the verse "Four Calling Birds" from the song "The Twelve Days of Christmas". In her design, she has focussed on the birds themselves and painted them as large as possible to wrap around the snowman's body. The design is a contemporary take on Scandinavian folk art illustration using bold colours and geometric patterns.

Heritage Plaque on Detroit Bridge
This red plaque, affixed to
Image], records that the bridge, built in 1941, used to carry part of the Manchester Ship Canal Railway, the largest private railway in the UK. The 80-metre long former railway bridge was moved and converted to a footbridge during the redevelopment of Salford Docks as they were transformed into Salford Quays. The bridge now crosses the Huron and Erie Basins, linking the residential area around Ontario Basin with Harbour City and MediaCityUK.
