Salford Quays Apartment Block Overlooking Central Bay
Wherever you might be in the world, this view would be impressive. As a visitor, I see it as a very attractive waterside location. I am sure that many local residents share that view. However, it is easy to become so accustomed to ones location that it is not noticed very much, as it is the norm. I would hope that the various weather patterns which work in assocaition with the reflections from the water. Quay West, one of the most prominent and attractive office buildings in the area can be seen in the distance.

Salford Quays Plaque One out All Out
The plaque reads 1911 and 1951 Docks one, two, three one out all out workers' unity The plaque records the essential principle of trades union activity. A principle and a practice which is responsible for virtually all the key benefits enjoyed by employees today, such as holiday entitlement, sick pay, lunch breaks, maximum working hours, overtime payments, etc. Many of the rights have been eroded by anti-trades union legislation passed by successive Conservative Governments.

Salford Quays Salford Wharf Resident Canada Geese
Canada geese have found a home along Salford Wharf. I don't know if they migrate in the winter. They appear to have adapted well to pedestrians walking alongside or even amongst them. I asked a council worker if they descend on a nearby area of grass to keep it trimmed. He confirmed it. There are signs that the geese are being fed with some cereal, possible rolled oats, by local residents. The main disadvantage is their droppings which are a shade of green. Some of the time they appear to stay by the water, at other times they venture a little on to the pathways. The droppings are avoidable, but when it is wet, they are more of a slipping hazard, potentilly, but not much. In summary it is good to see avian wildlife thriving in the clean waters of Central Bay.
